I have been blogging my way to recovery for the past few years. I've debated with myself whether to write this post for some time. I cannot seem to accept the fact that anxiety is a part of me. With talk of mental health awareness becoming increasingly prominent , I felt it was time to fully open up about what I go through on an almost daily basis.

What is Anxiety
An uneasy state of mind usually over the possibility of an anticipated misfortune or trouble.
An uneasy or distressing desire (for something).
Overthinking
Contemplating about the future
Feeling worthless
Planning things in your head and never doing them
Lack of motive
Feeling abandoned by people around you
Not trusting anyone
Lack of sleep
Scared of social gatherings
Daydreaming
Worried about achieving your goals
It took me a long time to even feel comfortable uttering the words above. Feel free to add what you think and feel to the list above. As an outgoing person, adventurous, and an adrenaline junkie, people would say I do not suffer from anxiety. The most important question is what is your definition of anxiety. But this is where that statement is wrong. Anxiety is part of everyone's life and it does not discriminate. It's hard to accept that we all have an anxiety disorder.
"You Can't Escape It"

We get stuck in moments of self criticism and doubt. Most of the energy being radiated out there is negative. That is why we keep bringing up negative emotions, past mistakes, and worries about the future. We can get stuck in repetitive cycles that interfere with our ability to experience and react to present situations.
What to do with anxiety
We can allow negative thoughts and feelings to take over our lives or we can develop higher consciousness that redirects our attention and behavior towards the achieving our goals, setting our values, and activities that are productive and personally meaningful to us.We can strive to live a purposeful and effective life, rather than to be free of negative affect.
Very informative thanks Doc
